Banpu continues Banpu Table Tennis Camp in northeastern area to develop young players” learning and athletic skills
Banpu Public Company Limited, one of Asia’s leading energy companies, organized the “Banpu Table Tennis Club Camp: Inspiration for Students in Remote Areas”, with cooperation from the Table Tennis Club of Khon Kaen University, for 105 students aged 8 – 16 years from Khon Kaen and neighboring northeastern provinces.
Held at Satit Modindaeng, demonstration school of Khon Kaen University, the activity was aimed at extending Banpu Table Tennis Club (BTTC)’s strengths and capabilities by bringing experienced, dedicated and renowned national coach and BTTC volunteers who have extensive experience in national and international tournaments to help train northeastern youth’s table tennis skills in an attempt to develop it to standard level as well as enabling them to acquire learning of life skills through table tennis.
Mrs. Udomlux Olarn, Head of Corporate Affairs, Banpu Public Company Limited and Banpu Table Tennis Club Manager, said, “Based on Banpu’s sustainability concept, we believe that society will be strong and improve sustainably if youth, who are strong foundation of our future society, receive good education as well as encouragement to grow their talents and groomed to be a good citizen in tandem. This is the second consecutive year that Banpu arranges “Banpu Table Tennis Club Camp: Inspiration for Students in Remote Areas” following the first well-received activity in Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat last year. We believe that this activity will provide opportunities to talented youths in the northeastern provinces who lack opportunities to develop and advance their skills to a higher standard level through practice with national experienced coach and also develop BTTC members to have social responsibility and voluntary mind.”
“Banpu Table Tennis Club Camp: Inspiration for Students in Remote Areas” is a special activity leveraged from the BTTC’s regular activities. BTTC was established in early 2008 with its purpose of promoting Thai table tennis youth, including daily practice and training for over 50 BTTC members. The Club also sponsors its members to participate in various international and domestic tournaments throughout the year. Moreover, it supports talented members to join training at Zhengding International Table Tennis Training Center at Hebei Province, China, which is supported by Banpu’s Chinese subsidiary – Banpu Investment (China) Ltd (BIC). Through BTTC’s capability and resources, it expands opportunity for youth to cultivate both athletic development and life skills in provincial areas to become skillful table tennis players and quality Thai citizens.
