The Private Sector Collective Action Coalition Against Corruption (CAC) was commenced by Thailand’s partner organizations in private sector. The initiative aims to promote the exercise of effective anti-corruption policy and put the anti-bribery mechanism into practice in order to create a strong network of clean business and expand the collective action to tackle corruption.

Banpu received CSRI Recognition 2013 from Corporate Social Responsibility Institute (CSRI) under the Stock Exchange of Thailand.This award was granted to honor Thai listed firms which have shown their commitment to consistently grow businesses in tandem with social responsibility.This year, 40 Thai listed companies received the award.


The Finance Asia website ranked Banpu 5th of the 8 Best Managed Companies, 4th of the 7 Best Corporate Governance Companies, and 4th of the 6 Best Corporate Social Responsibility Companies. In addition, Ms. Somruedee Chaimongkol was ranked 3rd of the Best Chief Financial Officers. The rankings were based on an annual survey of 265 analysts and investors across Asia.

Banpu was ranked one of the 50 Most Fabulous Companies in the Asia-Pacific region – widely known as “Asia’s Fab 50” – in 2010 by Forbes Asia, a leading business publication and website in Asia. The Company was the only Thai company to have received this prestigious regional recognition in 2010.

The Asia’s Fab 50 has been conducted since 2005. In 2010, Forbes Asia evaluated 936 listed Asian companies with a minimum of 3 billion US Dollars in revenue or market capitalization. Banpu was selected one of the Top 85 Listed Companies with Outstanding Corporate Governance, according to a corporate governance survey organized by the Thai Institute of Directors Association (IOD in collaboration with The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand (SEC). The award was given to companies qualifying in five major criteria: shareholders’ rights, equitable treatment of shareholders, roles of stakeholders, disclosure and transparency, and the Board’s responsibilities. Information used in the IOD’s assessment comes from annual reports, annual registration statements (Form 56-1), invitation letters to shareholders’ meetings, minutes of the shareholders’ meetings, the company’s website, corporate information disseminated through the SET and the SEC, as well as other information released to the general public.


Banpu was named one of the Top Five Thai Listed Companies for Outstanding Information Disclosure by Standard & Poor’s (S&P) Governance Services and the Corporate Governance and Financial Reporting Centre. Among the Stock Exchange of Thailand’s 50 listed companies included in the S&P’s study group, Banpu was recognized for its outstanding disclosure of corporate governance information. The study, conducted by S&P’s Governance Services, evaluates good corporate governance principles based on the latest information disclosed in each company’s annual report.

Based on a survey of the total 234 listed companies, Banpu was ranked by the Thai Institute of Directors (IOD) as one of the top 50 companies with good corporate governance. The survey results were announced in the ’Strengthening Corporate Governance Practices in Thailand 2002’ report at the ‘Disclosure of Thai Listed Companies’ Corporate Governance Assessment’ seminar which has been organized for three consecutive years.
