Banpu Wins 2020 Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards – Silver Class in Best SDG Report, Reinforcing its Leadership in Energy Sustainability
Banpu Public Company Limited, a leading international versatile energy provider, won for the first time a Silver class in Asia’s Best SDG Reporting at the 6th Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards (ASRA) in 2020, the most prestigious international awards for corporate sustainability reporting. The recognition affirms another achievement of Banpu’s commitment to conduct its business in line with the ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) principles in delivering “Smarter Energy for Sustainability” for all stakeholders, while reinforcing its leadership in transparent reporting of its sustainability performance and reflects its readiness for a resilient future.

Banpu integrated its sustainability policy and development plan into the Company’s five-year business plan for 2021-2025, to strengthen its Greener & Smarter strategy. The Company has set the long-term ESG targets towards 2025 with linkage to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Seven SDGs most relevant to the business have been highlighted with objectives to increase positive impact and reduce adverse impact from business operations under a concrete action plan and target timelines. These are Goal 6: clean water and sanitation, Goal 7: affordable and clean energy, Goal 8: decent work and economic growth, Goal 12: responsible consumption and production, Goal 13: climate action, Goal 15: life on land, and Goal 17: partnerships for the goals.
