Banpu Backs Efforts to Curb New Wave of COVID-19 Pandemic, Donating Medical Supplies and PPE Worth Over THB 6 Million to Hospitals in Samut Sakhon
Banpu Public Company Limited realizes the necessity to prevent the new wave of COVID-19 pandemic in Samut Sakhon province which was declared a red zone and a high at-risk area. The Company hence urgently delivered N95 masks, PPE kits, and medical equipment at the total amount of THB 6,358,460 to 3 hospitals in the province, namely Nakhon Tha Chalom Hospital, Samutsakhon Hospital and Ban Phaeo Hospital, together with 10,500 high-quality cloth masks. This is to provide the hospitals with essential medical equipment and support doctors’ and nurses’ operations to minimize infection risks during the testing to identify infected persons, the caretaking works to prevent the spread of infection and the medical treatment according to the government measures.
This provision of medical equipment and donation is a mission supported by the “Mitr Phol-Banpu Solidarity to Aid Thailand on COVID-19 Confrontation Endowment,” worth THB 500 million in total, half of which is endowed by Banpu. The endowment, which has continued since March 2020, aims to support the work of public health agencies and relieve the economic impacts on the needy and vulnerable people nationwide.
