Providing medical equipment to Central Correctional Hospital under the Corrections Department

Banpu Public Company Limited urgently provided support to 7 hospitals in high-risk areas in which a large number of infectious patients have been founded, aiming to bring medical personnel an access to medical equipment and necessary protections for prevention and control of the COVID-19 outbreak. A negative pressure room, respirators, blood pressure monitors, and PPE kits were among the resources provided with a total value of THB 11,711,600.

The 7 hospitals include 2 hospitals in Bangkok – the Central Correctional Hospital under the Corrections Department and Srithanya Hospital. The 5 hospitals in other provinces are Banphaeo General Hospital in Samut Sakhon, Phanomsarakam Hospital in Chachoengsao, Pattani Hospital in Pattani, Yala Hospital in Yala, and Hat Yai Hospital in Songkhla. In case of Srithanya Hospital, Banpu gave the hospital financial aid to build an isolated psychiatric ward specifically for COVID-19 infected cases to ensure that the medical personnel can work safely.

This provision of medical equipment is one of the proactive actions under the “Mitr Phol-Banpu Solidarity to Aid Thailand on COVID-19 Confrontation Endowment”, worth THB 500 million in total, half of which is endowed by Banpu. The endowment, which has continued since March 2020, aims to support the work of public health agencies and relieve the economic impacts on the underprivileged and vulnerable people nationwide.
