Beijing – Banpu presented the Company’s exhibition booth in the 5th Coaltrans China Conference, which was held at the Kerry Centre Hotel, Beijing, PRC during April 16-17, 2007. Its main objective was to introduce Banpu and its businesses to local government officers, customers and other major target groups who attended the event.

During the conference, Mr. Hartono Widjaya, Banpu’s Senior Vice President – Marketing East Asia & Europe was invited to be a speaker for the topic, “Import Development Perspective From An Indonesia View Point”. At the event, Banpu highly attracted the conference participants by both presentation of its speaker and its corporate booth.

Banpu Public Company Limited started expansion its businesses into China by investing in Asian American Coal, Inc., to acquire Daning coal mining located in Shanxi Province in 2003. In 2005, Banpu acquired another coal mine named “Hebi” in Henan Province. In 2006, the Company has obtained control of three combined heat and power (CHP) plants in northern China. Banpu’s investment in China is a geographical diversification strategy following its designated vision to become one of Asia’s leading energy companies.
