Banpu’s U.S. Closed-Loop Gas pillar operates through BKV Corporation (BKV), listed on the New York Stock Exchange integrating natural gas production, gas-fired power generation, and carbon capture, utilization, and sequestration (CCUS) into a single, closed-loop strategy designed to deliver low-carbon energy at scale. 

BKV is one of the top 20 natural gas producers in the United States, which includes the production from 2 major shale basins; the Marcellus Shale in Pennsylvania and the Barnett Shale in Texas, together providing a high-quality, diversified upstream gas portfolio with proven long-term reserve alongside the application of technology and innovation to further improve operational performance. ​

The gas power business operates through Temple I and Temple II, two combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plants located in Texas, operating within the ERCOT market. Temple I has an installed capacity of 768 MW and Temple II has an installed capacity of 755 MW. Both plants utilize Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) technology, delivering high-efficiency, reliable electricity generation that supports grid stability and meets growing power demand from AI and data center infrastructure in the U.S. market.

BKV is committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its natural gas business operations by 2030. In support of this commitment, the Company established BKV dCarbon Ventures, LLC to pursue investment opportunities and commercialize CCUS technologies. These initiatives reinforce Banpu’s closed-loop net-zero strategy by capturing carbon at the source and permanently sequestering it, thereby delivering carbon-neutral gas solutions that address the accelerating demand from hyperscalers and AI-driven infrastructure.​
