Mitr Phol – Banpu Endowment Supports THB 40 Million to King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital to Build Pattayapat Field Cohort Ward

Mitr Phol – Banpu Solidarity to Aid Thailand on COVID-19 Confrontation Endowment supported THB 40 million to King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital to build Pattayapat Field Cohort Ward in order to prepare if a new wave of outbreak occurs again, received by Mr. Khan Prachuabmoh (3rd from the left) – Director of the Fund Raising Bureau, Thai Red Cross Society, and Associate Professor Chanchai Sittipunt (2nd from the left) – Executive Director of King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital. Pattayapat Field Cohort Ward is a temporary building built in the parking area of the Pattayapat Building, consisting of 6 ward buildings with medical equipment such as central monitors, patient monitors, High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters, infusion pumps, continuous renal replacement therapy machines, and ultrasound machines. The Field Cohort Ward can accommodate patients up to 90 beds and can be adapted for a variety of applications, from accommodating yellow-stage patients to converting them into a field intensive care unit if needed. This will help to reduce bed-waiting times and congestion in the emergency room. Currently, construction has been completed and is in operation.

This support is one of the actions under the “Mitr Phol – Banpu Solidarity to Aid Thailand on COVID-19 Confrontation Endowment” worth THB 1,000 million, which aims to support public health agencies’ work and relieve the economic impacts on the underprivileged and vulnerable people nationwide. We hope to be a part of helping Thais to get over the crisis and get their normal lives back again.
