Banpu Supports Southern Flood-Affected Communities Providing THB 2 Million and Visiting Affected Employees and Local Residents
Banpu Public Company Limited continues to stand alongside Thai people during times of crisis. Through its initiative “Southern Flood Relief by Banpu,” the company has provided support to communities affected by the severe flooding in the Southern Thailand and visited families of employees and people impacted by the disaster. A total budget of THB 2 million has been allocated to help ease hardship and assist communities on the path to recovery.
Recently, Mr. Sinon Vongkusolkit, Chief Executive Officer, together with Banpu’s management team, traveled to Songkhla Province to meet affected employees and their families. During the visit, they offered encouragement to the volunteers from the Phetkasem Foundation, who play a key role in supporting people in the affected areas. Banpu team also helped distribute cooked meals, relief kits, blankets, and essential items to local residents.
As part of the total budget, Banpu contributed THB 1 million to the Phetkasem Foundation to support urgent relief efforts in Songkhla. This included assisting with the operation of the foundation’s field kitchen, which can prepare approximately 14,000 cooked meals per day, as well as providing coffins for fatalities. These efforts ensured that the needs of the community were addressed promptly during this difficult period.
Banpu also allocated THB 1 million to prepare 2,000 relief kits, each containing ready-to-eat food, essential items, basic medicines, as well as blankets, pillows, and sleeping mats. The Company set up donation points for employees to contribute additional supplies, with over 100 employee volunteers helping assemble the relief kits. These relief packages were distributed through the Phetkasem Foundation to communities affected by the flood across four subdistricts in three districts: Tha Chang Subdistrict in Bang Klam District, Khuan Lang, Khlong U-Taphao, and Khlong Hae Subdistricts in Hat Yai District, and Ranot District.
