Reflecting our vision to become an energetic Asian energy provider, everyone at Banpu consistently
strives for a better tomorrow in whatever we do. Employees at all levels are encouraged to engage in
and contribute towards continuous improvements via the suggestion system and small group activities
through which all creative and innovative proposals from either an individual or a team can be
recognized and rewarded.

At the same time, each individual learns in a constructive way to put forward ideas for improvement in
a disciplined manner that furthers our success with the highest level of effectiveness possible. To
achieve this development, 5S has long been utilized as fundamental for quality management in
combination with advanced management tools as appropriate to the business environment and stage
of development in each location in which Banpu operates.

In the business sense, the achievement of quality is reflected in customer satisfaction. For the coal
business, the company focuses on delivering a product that meets customer specifications with
on-time delivery and to achieve this, an international quality management system has been
introduced into our production processes. The quality systems widely applied in Banpu include
ISO9001 and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Our operations at Lampang set the record as the
first open-cut coal mine to gain the highest recognition of TPM3 level 5 awarded by the Center of TPM
(CTPM) Australasia.
